![]() ![]() Your bike, stock or modified, will be lean in some areas and rich in others. Rarely is it a case that your bike is running lean, everywhere, by the same amount. Save your money for someone that knows these bikes and knows what they are talking about.Ĥ) The Booster Plug is a poor option for fixing fueling issues. If they don't even know the basics, steer clear. That is 100% false, and any vendor that is selling performance parts, that doesn't know this stuff, is not a vendor that I would trust. TEC Bike Parts has been telling people that you can't tune these bikes with an ECU flash, or a Power Commander, or Booster Plug, etc. They are entirely flashable with TuneECU. The ECU will not learn anything and it won't fix it.ģ) The Euro5 ECU's are not locked and un-flashable. When you install an exhaust and air filter, the bike WILL run lean, and it will STAY lean until you tune it. ![]() Anything outside of that range, which is 75% of your fuel map, is not and never will be touched by the ECU. It can make TINY adjustments in that area, and that area only. The area that the ECU can "adapt" is only below 5000rpm and less than 20% throttle. Cars have wideband sensors that allow more latitude with ECU fuel trims. The ECU has a narrowband sensor, that is very limited in what it can even "read" from the exhaust. It never has been, it likely never will be. And with each iteration of the EURO standards, the amount that it does is less and less, and it always errs on the side of running LEAN for compliance with regulations.Ģ) The ECU on our Triumphs is not "self learning" or "self mapping". There is an adaptation process that is VERY limited, to small throttle inputs around idle, for emissions. 1) There is no, nor has there ever been, a "12 minute tune". ![]()
